We have numerous opportunities to volunteer with Hospice of Texarkana/Hospice of Hope
Patient & Family Care – Volunteers can choose to visit patients in their home, the Care Center, assisted living or nursing home facility. Volunteers also assist with caregiver relief, as needed.
Spiritual Support – Provide spiritual comfort and support wherever the patient resides in accordance with the hospice philosophy and the expressed goals of the patient/family.
Administrative Volunteers – Help in our two offices with various tasks or at events calling bingo, bean bag baseball, singing/music, and health fairs.
Tuck in Program – Volunteers call patients at home on Thursdays to assure they have necessary supplies, equipment and /or support.
Bereavement Volunteers – Bereavement volunteers assist bereavement staff in making phone calls to families following the death of a loved one. These volunteers receive additional training from the bereavement staff and help to remind families of services available to them.
We Honor Veterans – The Vet-to-Vet volunteer program pairs Veteran Volunteers with hospice patients. Veteran Volunteers have the unique ability to relate and connect with Veteran patients and their families. Also, veterans help with pinning ceremonies in homes and in the community.
Inpatient Volunteers – Inpatient volunteer will assist with greeting families, giving tours of unit, helping put up supplies, baking cookies for guests, or answering the phone.
Volunteer from Home - Volunteers can even help us from home by making casseroles, crocheting & tagging prayer shawls, and preparing community marketing items.
