Dr. Stephens and Leasa Roach

Dr. Ronald Stephens, Associate Medical Director, and Nurse Practitioner Leasa Roach are available to visit patients at home.
Taking care home

Taking care to the home makes sense when a patient is unable to travel to their doctor's office, yet needs help that only a physician can give. This is especially true for many hospice patients so Hospice of Texarkana, Inc. "takes care home" when requested by a patient's attending physician.

Caring nurses and Certified Nurses' Assistants have supported our patients since 1985. In 2006, Geriatric Nurse Practitioner Leasa Roach began helping our patients by visiting them at home when requested by their physician. Because of continued growth and a desire to constantly improve care, the Board of Directors and Medical Director added an Associate Medical Director to our professional team.

Our Medical Director is Dr. Edward Eichler. He is a local Oncologist who has filled the leadership role, volunteering his expertise, since the inception of the organization. The Associate Medical Director is Dr. Ronald Stephens, a Family Physician who moved to Texarkana and began practicing at Collom and Carney Clinic in July, 2007. He brings 18 years of combined hospice experience to the organization.
